Scotia Investments Family of Companies’ 2025 Scholarships Recipients

The Scotia Investments Family of Companies is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2025 scholarship awards. This program recognizes and provides financial support to students who excel academically and are dedicated to sustainability advocacy, community involvement, and shaping a bright future ahead.
Claire Wile is attending Dalhousie University where she is enrolled in the Nursing Program. After graduation, Claire plans to become a Registered Nurse and, with experience and training, pursue certification in Emergency Nursing. Claire’s parent, Harden Wile, is the Hydro Facility Manager at Minas Energy in Nova Scotia.
Riley Baker is attending Nova Scotia Community College – Akerley Campus, where he is enrolled in the Welding Program. He hopes to become a welder so he can combine creativity and problem-solving in building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports his community. Riley’s parent, Tim Keddy, is a Maintenance Technician at Scotia Recycling Limited in Kentville, Nova Scotia.
Lachlan McKenzie is attending Dalhousie University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biochemistry. After graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in Toxicology. Lachlan aspires to return to the Annapolis Valley to work on persistent environmental issues, including radon gas deposits. Lachlan’s parent, David MacKenzie, is a Logistics Coordinator at BioMedica Diagnostics in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
Dominic is attending Simon Fraser University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in video game development, combining creativity with the technical depth of computer science. Dominic’s parent, Travis McLean, is the Human Resources Manager at CKF in Langley, British Columbia.
