Scotia Recycling Limited Acquires Recycling Assets of Fredericton Solid Waste

On February 1st, Scotia Recycling Limited (SRL) announced the acquisition of the recycling assets of Fredericton Solid Waste from the Capital Region Service Commission (CRSC). Fredericton Solid Waste has been providing residential recycling services to the greater Fredericton and surrounding communities since 2001. In 2023, it was amalgamated under the CRSC, continuing to provide both municipal and commercial recycling services. SRL and CRSC share a long-standing business relationship of approximately 20 years.
The acquisition of Fredericton Solid Waste’s recycling division into SRL’s Atlantic business is seen as a natural fit and complements SRL’s existing businesses in the region. This move is expected to establish a processing hub for both municipal and commercial recycling in Fredericton.
Since 1976, SRL has been a leader in recycling in Atlantic Canada. With growing awareness around environmental stewardship and sustainability, SRL is poised for substantial growth. Expanding the business in the local marketplace is a strategic goal for the company. The acquisition of Fredericton Solid Waste’s recycling assets aligns with the Family of Companies’ strategy to actively invest in long-term, sustainable, and eco-friendly growth.
