New Acquisition for CKF & SIL
We are excited to announce that on November 1, 2022, Scotia Investments Limited together with CKF, Inc. acquired Packright Manufacturing Ltd. in Langley, British Columbia.  ​
CKF operates in some of the same market sectors as Packright —produce, bakery and retail—and service many of the same customers. Combining forces will deepen and widen our product lines while increasing bargaining power with suppliers and large retail customers.
Joining forces with Packright allows CKF to add customers to our rPET manufacturing facility in Delta, BC, while providing Packright customers with the immediate capacity they are demanding.
Packright will gain access to CKF’s capital strength, its manufacturing expertise and capacity while CKF will benefit from Packright’s design prowess, its market reputation for quality products and services and its established customer base.Â
Most importantly, the combined customer base will have access to a deeper and wider product line, expanded production capacity from CKF’s Delta plant and a vertically integrated supplier, when CKF’s extrusion facility in Rexdale, ON, is operational in December 2022.
Synergies and Growth Accrue from the Acquisition
The CKF team also welcomes the opportunity to work with Colin Chiu and others in the Packright management team and staff to continue to grow the business. Colin is well known and well respected in the industry for his insights on designing rPET packaging to run in highly automated systems, extend shelf life and maximize merchandising opportunities.
This Team are integral to the next stage of growth for Packright, as part of CKF. Colin will become Director, New Market Development, Plastics, reporting to Rhonda Sanders, Vice President, Sale and Marketing.
